Why Current Student Loans Don't Work
Understanding the challenges international students face
High Interest Rates
Traditional banks in many countries charge international students steep interest rates — often 11.5–14% — making education loans unaffordable for many deserving students.
Currency Volatility
Exchange rates keep changing, making it hard to predict how much you'll actually pay back — especially over long loan periods.
Complex and Slow Process
Applications require piles of documents, lengthy verifications, and can take weeks or even months — just to get a response.
Difficult Loan Repayment
Rigid repayment schedules don't account for job delays or visa issues — students often struggle to keep up after graduating.

We're Shiven and Praditha — just two international students who hit "apply" and got hit back with sky-high interest rates.
UniMoney started from our own struggle to secure fair loans to study in Australia. I'm Shiven, a Computer Science undergrad at Monash who loves building things that actually solve problems. And I'm Praditha, a Master's student in Finance at Monash who's all about making money work smarter, not scarier.
Between the endless paperwork, crazy interest rates, and feeling like the system's not built for us — we knew something had to change. So we decided to build it ourselves.
